About the Founder

LIHANN GEORGE is a name, and a presence.

It carries a way of working shaped by time, attention, and a long devotion to design.

The name is drawn from my own: Liesbet Johanna Georgine, and reflects how closely this practice is connected to how I observe, think and work.

For more than two decades, I have worked in luxury accessories, developing a deep sensitivity to form, material and craftsmanship. For twelve years, I was Head of Accessories at Dries Van Noten, where design was guided by integrity, emotion and precision rather than by trend. Since 2020, I founded STUDIO CUOIO, a design and production house for high-end leather accessories, working closely with ateliers, artisans and design-led brands.

Over the years, this practice evolved through collaborations with creatives and houses such as Kvadrat / Raf Simons, Bibi van der Velden, Kassl Editions, Dries Criel and others who share a respect for material, process and meaning.

At LIHANN GEORGE, I am not positioned at the centre, yet my presence remains part of the work.

It is not expressed through explanation or narrative, but through coherence: in form, in material, in proportion.
Through a way of working that favours attention over display, and depth over excess.

What remains visible is a disciplined approach to design.
Choices are made slowly.
Materials are selected with care.
Forms are shaped through restraint rather than emphasis.

The work does not seek to persuade. It exists with quiet clarity, allowing meaning to unfold over time.

This is not storytelling for effect.
It is a commitment to integrity: to letting the soul of the work be felt, without insisting on it.

Images and words are chosen with honesty and precision. Trust grows through consistency, not explanation. Because people do not choose a logo, they recognise a vision.

LIHANN GEORGE grows through this balance: presence without prominence, authorship without ego: quietly, deliberately, and with intention.
